The Fortune Teller

September 20, 2011

The Fortune Teller

Henri, rightfully looking skeptical,

nonetheless,

unbeknownst to him

or, in fact, the gypsy divesting him

of his money, pocket right,

hears Milosh tell him the truth,

what we call the future:

that he will marry by 30

and again by 40 and die by 50.

On his death bed

age 51,

all Henri can think of is the 3 sous he lost that day
